Canada net pay in 2026: federal tax plus every province and territory

CRA 2026 federal brackets, provincial tax, CPP or QPP, and Employment Insurance—and why Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec produce different net pay on the same gross.

Canadian take-home pay is a federal calculation plus a provincial or territorial one. CPP (or QPP in Quebec) and Employment Insurance sit on top. Two offers with the same gross in Toronto and Calgary are not the same net.

Federal tax in 2026

The calculator uses CRA 2026 federal brackets and the basic personal amount, including the high-income phase-out. Quebec abatement is applied for Quebec residents in the federal step. Always confirm the current CRA tables for the year you will be paid.

Provincial and territorial tax

All 10 provinces and 3 territories are available. Ontario includes the provincial surtax and health premium used in this model. Other provinces use the 2026 regional brackets in the bundled table. Credits, some surtaxes, and benefit programs are not fully modeled; the result is the main income-tax and payroll path, not every provincial credit.

CPP, QPP, EI, and QPIP

Outside Quebec, employee CPP includes the base rate and CPP2 in the second earnings range, and EI uses the 2026 employee rate up to the insurable maximum. Quebec uses QPP, Quebec EI, and QPIP. These contributions are why a raise near the ceiling changes net pay differently from a raise below it.

How to compare

Select Canada, choose a province, and enter the offer. The compare page keeps Canada on the selected province when you look at other countries. City snapshots currently cover Ontario cities; choosing Vancouver-level rent is not in the bundled city list, so enter your own housing if you need it.
