French salaire net in 2026: employee contributions and income tax

How published 2026 employee social-contribution rates and the income-tax scale apply to a private-sector employee with one tax share.

In France, the gap between brut and net is mostly employee social contributions. Income tax is a second step, using the published scale and, in this model, one tax share.

Employee social contributions

The calculator applies the published 2026 employee contribution schedule for a private-sector employee. It does not include mutuelle top-ups, individual payroll adjustments, or the full employer-charge bill. Employer cost is shown with an illustrative 40% proxy; verify actual coût employeur with URSSAF or your contrat.

Income tax scale

The 2026 published scale applicable to 2025 income is used as the income-tax reference for planning. Household quotient, dependents, and tax credits are excluded. If you file as a couple or have children, your actual tax can be lower than this one-share profile.

How to read the result

Use the result to compare French offers and to see the contribution-versus-tax split. Do not treat it as a bulletin de paie. Open the assumptions panel for the official service-public and URSSAF links, then confirm your quotient familial with a tax professional if the household is not a single person.
